The Ante meridiem (The AM)

Often effective design is about finding a delightful marriage of space and time. For Lottie, a stripped back, almost banal shopfront from the first half of last century, this was elegantly realised as the space was such a neat fit for the time.

East facing shopfronts nearly always have great morning light which, in this instance, paired well with the espresso hour, when this new café and espresso bar was going to be in full swing.

We tried to harness and control this flood of natural light, using a bright but cool palette of whites, greys and greens, balanced against warmer timber tones and textures, to craft a space at once fresh and cozy to welcome commuters and locals alike for their morning coffee or brunch.
