The brief for this small residential project in Brunswick is to refurbish and extend an existing California bungalow, improving the current bathroom and laundry amenities and to provide a modern open plan living, dining and kitchen space for a young family.
The proposed extension sits as a new and distinct element that complements the existing house form and creates a balanced and considered transition between old and new.
Cathedral ceilings provide a sense of volume and make the most of the north facing aspect of the extension, and a new deck allows for an easy transition between the new family space and the garden.
